Béoumi, March 18, 2022 (AIP)- In its desire to contribute to the empowerment of women and young people in the city of Béoumi, the Foods’co Foundation donated to them with a total value of 20 million CFA francs during a ceremony organized for this purpose on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the village hall of the town hall, we learned on Friday from a source close to the donor organization.
This donation, consisting of seven tons of rice, 10 tricycles and checks, given to more than a hundred women in the form of loans, aims to enable beneficiaries to carry out income-generating activities to support themselves.
According to the president of the Foods’co Foundation, N’dhatz Mélanie Sanogo, the construction of the Foods’co processing unit in Béoumi in 2018 is in line with the same idea, that of truly working for the well-being of the population.
“For us, it is about lifting a lot of young people and women out of poverty. As proof, this cashew nut processing unit into finished and semi-finished products employs 460 people,” she said, inviting local authorities to support them in this process of empowering young people and women. of Beoumi.
The first head of the Foods’co Foundation urged the beneficiaries of the loans to repay the funds granted to them to allow other people to receive them in turn. The spokesperson for its beneficiaries, Miss Audrey Yolande Patricia, welcomed the initiative of the Foods’co Foundation. On behalf of all the recipients, she promised to use this donation wisely.
The prefect of the department of Béoumi, Traoré Imelda, who presided over this donation ceremony, congratulated the leaders of the Foods’co Foundation for their support for the population. She wanted such initiatives to multiply for the happiness of her constituents.
